Space the seeds 1.5cm (3/4") apart in tray or two to a cell in modules under glass at 20-21°C. Cover lightly with compost, and with glass, to retain humidity.
WHAT TO DO NEXT
Remove glass as soon as seedlings appear. Prick off tray seedlings as soon as true leaves have formed into 9cm (4") pots. Thin module seedlings to one per cell. Harden off plants for outdoor planting. When first truss of flowers appears transplant to growing site spacing 45cm – 60cm (18-24") apart.
MATURITY
July onwards.
HANDY TIP
The plants are of a bushy habit and do not require staking but it is best to surround them with straw to keep fruits clean if grown in open ground.
NUTRITIONAL VALUE
High in vitamin C and lycopene.
TYPE
Determinate - Bush type, do not remove side shoots.
